Keystitch — Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 29, 2026 · Updated: September 7, 2026 — the app was renamed from Leopld to Keystitch; nothing about its data practices changed.

Keystitch is a music-education app that helps you build keyboard visualization skills. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. The short version: Keystitch keeps your practice data on your own device and does not collect, transmit, or sell any of it.

What Keystitch stores

Keystitch records your practice activity — the exercises you attempt, your answers, your response times, and your progress through each module — so the app can track your improvement and adapt to your level. All of this is stored locally on your device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else automatically.

What Keystitch does not do

Purchases

Membership is sold through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple handles all billing; we never see your payment details, and the app stores only the entitlement Apple reports (whether your Apple Account holds a membership). Apple's handling of your purchase information is described in Apple's own privacy policy.

Microphone and speech

Some exercises let you answer out loud. When you use this feature, Keystitch asks for microphone permission and processes your speech entirely on your device to recognize your answer. Your voice is not recorded, stored, or transmitted anywhere. You can decline microphone access and use the app normally with on-screen input instead.

Sharing your practice data with us (optional)

Keystitch includes an "Export practice data" button. If — and only if — you choose to use it, the app creates a file of your practice events that you can send to us (for example by email or AirDrop) to help us improve the app. This is always your choice and always initiated by you. The exported file contains practice activity and basic technical details about your app version and device model; it does not contain your name, contacts, or other personal identifiers. If you never tap the button, nothing is shared.

Children's privacy

Keystitch does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because the app stores data only on the device and has no accounts, no personal information is gathered or transmitted regardless of the user's age.

Beta testing

If you are using Keystitch through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may collect certain information (such as crash logs and basic usage data) as described in Apple's TestFlight terms and privacy policy. That collection is governed by Apple, not by us, and any crash or feedback data we receive through TestFlight is used only to fix problems and improve the app.

What's coming, and how this policy will change

One of the primary motivators for creating Keystitch is to make your practice time better spent. Because so much of music education runs on untested guesses, we intend to test them — to learn, from real practice, what builds durable musical skill with minimal wasted effort, and to fold what we find back into the app. To get there, we plan to add user accounts with cross-device sync, and the collection of practice data that powers that work. None of it is in the app yet, which is why this policy reads the way it does today.

When those features arrive, this policy will be rewritten first, and the app will tell you clearly before any collection begins. A limit will never be hidden, and neither will data collection.
